A duplicate is an artificial copy of a being. They share the original's appearence and memories. However additional memories or skills can be programmed. They're creation is monitered by the Federal Duplication Bureau. It's stated there have been insidents of dublicates killing the original. Henderson James had one created to hunt down an escaped Megasoid. It consequentally attempted to kill him and take his place.
